Jiggler 1.7 released by Stick Software

Freeware app for Mac OS X keeps your computer awake for important tasks

Ithaca, New York, 20 May 2016 — Stick Software announced version 1.7 of Jiggler, a freeware utility for Mac OS X. Jiggler keeps your Mac awake through those lengthy tasks when it would rather fall asleep, by jiggling your mouse periodically. No more having to open System Preferences to change your sleep time and your screensaver delay, only to have to change them back again at the end. Just jiggle!

With version 1.7, Jiggler is no longer a normal application that lives in your Dock; instead, it is a "status item" that lives only in your menu bar. This change frees up your valuable Dock space, while making Jiggler instantly accessible to be enabled or disabled whenever your jiggling needs change.

Jiggler 1.7 is also the first version of Jiggler to be released as open source, found in the GitHub repository at https://github.com/bhaller/Jiggler. By making its code available to the OS X developer community, we hope both to provide helpful sample code to other developers, and also perhaps to receive improvements from the community that will make Jiggler better. It is licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License, as specified in its source code distribution.

Jiggler 1.7 is compatible with OS X 10.10, 10.11, and (one hopes) onward.

Jiggler joins Stick Software products such as PhotoReviewer, Eyeballs, Fracture, and Constrictor. It is freeware; if you like it, please check out our shareware products, and pay for the shareware you use. Thanks!
